These mini pizzas are perfect for any occasion – hors d’oeuvres, an impromptu party at home, a child’s birthday… Any excuse to bite into one of these slices of heaven!

Ingredients:

14 oz Fresh or frozen store bought pastry dough or pizza dough
Marinara sauce (or any red sauce)
8 oz fresh mozzarella cheese
3-inch circular dough cutters
Flour
Parchment paper (optional)

Preheat the oven to 425F

Lay the pastry dough on a floured, wooden cutting board. If the dough is thick, roll it with a rolling pin so it’s about ¼ inch thick. Cut the pasty dough with the cutter and place on a parchment paper lined (or greased) baking sheet.
Spread about a teaspoon of marinara sauce on the pastry dough with the back of a spoon. Cut the mozzarella into thin strips and lay on top of the tomato sauce.
Bake for about 10-12 minutes.
Remove from the oven, allow to cool slightly and then serve.
Repeat the process for more pizzette. This recipe yields about 20 pizzette.

Tips:

Pastry dough makes for a more sophisticated and special taste, yet pizza dough works perfectly well.
Fresh mozzarella cheese gives better flavor to the pizzette.

Enjoy!
