These fizzy bath bombs are super easy to make, they’re fantastic gifts and make kids’ bathtime much more fun!

Ingredients:

1 cup baking soda
½ cup citric acid
½ cup Epsom salt

½ cup cornstarch
2 ½ tablespoons solid coconut oil, melted
¾ tablespoon water
15 drops essential oil
Colorants (I used colorants for soap so they don’t stain)
Bath bomb molds or cupcake tins

Whisk the dry ingredients in a bowl, making sure to thoroughly combine.

Melt the coconut oil in a heat proof container in the microwave for intervals of 20 seconds. Or on stove top over low heat. Add the water, essential oil and colorants and stir to combine. Don’t worry if the coloring doesn’t blend completely, it will when you add to the dry ingredients.

Add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients very slowly so you don’t produce a fizzing reaction. Continue mixing until it looks like wet sand.

Fill the bath bomb molds or cupcake tins, firmly packing the mixture into the molds. Don’t be afraid to add a little extra mix to the top so you can really press down. Use a small measuring cup or back of a large spoon for best results.

Wait 2 minutes for the mixture to set and then gently turn it over and tap the top of each mold onto a large. The forms will pop out easily when tapped. Set aside to dry for 24 hours.

Have fun!
