What a super fun project that is also useful and easy to clean up. After all we’re making soap!
Ingredients:
Glycerin block
Microwave/oven proof glass measuring cup
Soap molds – silicone heat proof molds, cupcake tins, plastic molds
Essential oils (optional)
Soap colorants
Heat a few squares of the glycerin blocks, chopped into smaller pieces, in a double broiler. You can also use a heat proof glass measuring cup in a saucepan filled with water to heat. (If you want to heat more quickly, zap in the microwave for 20 seconds, then heat on the stovetop). When the glycerin is in liquid form, add a few drops of coloring and essential oil and combine thoroughly. Then quickly pour into the molds as the soap hardens quickly. If you need to reheat, place the cup back in the double broiler.
Repeat the process for different colors.
