Every time I make these brownies people as for more! They are out of this world amazing – a fudgy brownie with a delicate chocolate frosting.
4 oz Baker’s semi-sweet chocolate squares
1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup bread flour
½ teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
Preheat oven to 350F
Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan
In a double broiler or in a small saucepan, melt the chocolate and butter, being careful not to burn (if using a saucepan). Remove from heat and add the vanilla.
Whisk eggs until light. Add the sugar and stir to blend. Add the chocolate mixture and stir to combine.
Sift the bread flour, baking powder and salt. Add to the chocolate mixture, stirring just until blended.
Pour into the baking pan and bake for about 30 minutes or until a tester comes out clean.
Remove from oven and allow to cool completely.

2 tablespoons butter
2 oz Baker’s semi-sweet chocolate squares
¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups powdered sugar
Heat the water, butter and chocolate in a double broiler or small saucepan. Add vanilla when cool. Stir in the powdered sugar until smooth and creamy.
Spread the frosting over the brownies and allow to set.
