While practicing math facts using coins, we noticed some very dirty pennies and decided to clean them. Using just a few household items in your kitchen, you can shine up your pennies, too!
Ingredients:
1 glass or non-metal bowl
¼ cup white vinegar
1 teaspoon salt
5 pennies
Pour the vinegar into the bowl, then add the teaspoon of salt and stir. Add about 5 pennies and slowly count to 10. Your pennies will suddenly become shiny.
Remember to always wash your hands after touching coins, shiny or not!
